VeloCittà: 2nd International Conference

VeloCittà, the International  Platform for Cities & Bike Share SAVE THE DATE Virginia Raggi, the Mayor of Rome, invites you to attend the Second International Conference of VeloCittà, the Platform for Cities & Bike share 16 NOVEMBER 2017 in the prestigious Protomoteca Hall of the Capitol Hill of Rome. With Mayors from cities around Europe to share their experiences on the bicycle in their city the conference will also concentrate on the role that bike share systems can play in city policies and how these systems are evolving and increasingly becoming flexible policy levers capable of accelerating the growth of more liveable cities for all Cities will be able to meet many classic bike share providers as well as specialists in free floating systems and the innovative Geo Fence Plan for cities, the alternative to docking stations. European Bike-Sharing conference (Rotterdam, November 30, 2016)

The European VeloCittà project would like to invite you to join our European Bike Sharing Conference: Bike sharing: “Recipes for Success”.
It is held alongside this year’s Polis Conference. The bike sharing symposium will take place on Wednesday November 30th and is followed by the Annual Polis Conference on December 1st and 2nd. We expect an audience of people with a specific interest inbike sharing: city representatives as well as scholars, cycling experts and bike share operators from around Europe.

The CIVITAS suite of online courses now includes ten different topics; the courses are available to anyone who wants to increase their knowledge of sustainable urban mobility. Three of the courses look at the overarching themes supported by CIVITAS: Public Involvement, Traffic and Mobility fundamentals and Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans. The further seven courses take a closer look at thematic priorities supported by the EU. Topics covered include: cycling in urban areas, bike sharing, intelligent traffic management, mobility management and sustainable freight. E-courses are in English and focus on gather knowledge rather than practicing skills. A catalogue of courses and information on how to participate is available on the Civitas website.

Velo-city 2015

Nantes hosts 2015 Velo-city. Velo-city is the European Cyclists' Federation's (ECF) annual conference on cycling. The Velo-city conference series serves as global platform for the exchange of visions, knowledge, expertise skills and good practice on cycling as part of daily transport and recreation and on cycling related policies. More specifically, Velo-city promotes the integration of urban cycle planning into all the relevant public policy sectors, including transport planning, land development, public health, education, environment, economy, energy and human rights. After Seville in 2011 and Vienna in 2013, Nantes was selected to host Velo-city 2015 for its investment in terms of cycling policy. It is the first time that a city with less than a million people is hosting Velo-city. More information

International Seminar on Cycling Policies and Peer-review exercise in conjunction with the CIVINET Spain and Portugal Annual Forum

The event will look at different soft and hard measures to foster cycling in the host city of Malaga, and in more cities across Europe. The 3-day seminar will count with the participation of different cities such as Utrecht and Gent, the 2MOVE2 project partners cities (Stuttgart, Tel-Aviv Yafo and Brno), as well as Burgos, Madrid, Torres Vedras and A Coruña, as members of the CIVINET Spain & Portugal network. The rich programme includes three site visits to schowcase urban mobility measures which have been implemented in Malaga, including the city’s cycling infrastructure planning. The event is organised in collaboration with the CIVITAS Thematic Groups on “Safety and Security” and “Car Independent Lifestyles”, and PTP- Cycle, in the framework of the CIVITAS 2MOVE2 project annual meeting and the CIVITAS Spain and Portugal Annual Forum. ECOMM 2015 in Utrecht

The council of Utrecht is honoured that the ECOMM 2015 will be taking place in the city of Utrecht, The Netherlands. From 20 to 22 May, Utrecht will be the capital of mobility management where participants exchange knowledge and experience on people’s transportation choices and how to influence (traveller) behaviour. Whether people travel by bike or car, on foot, via public transport, or via other methods of transportation, ECOMM 2015 will give users a central spot on the stage. The success of mobility management measures depends on the user’s actual actions. A better understanding of what moves the user will improve our actions. In other words: user orientation as a starting point for mobility management as a measure to the key to success. It is our objective to ensure that this conference is a valuable experience for all participants, whether they consider themselves to be relative newcomers or seasoned practitioners in mobility management. 2014 POLIS Conference

The Annual Polis Conference provides an opportunity for cities, metropolitan areas and regions to showcase their transport achievements to a large audience and for the wider transport community to engage with representatives of city and regional authorities on innovative transport solutions. The conference offers a mix of high-level plenary sessions, with prominent figures debating topical issues, and a wide selection of technical sessions showing innovation in policy and practice across the transport spectrum. Baltic Sea Region advancing towards Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning

Many cities may find it a challenge to elaborate SUMPs which require a high level of stakeholders’ participation and establishing a detailed complex planning process. The conference will be organised with a view to supporting cities, focusing on the Baltic Sea Region, in their efforts to elaborate Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs). The main characteristics and different aspects related to the SUMP preparation and implementation process will be addressed and discussed in the conference. Several cities will present practical examples of their SUMP measures. Among them is the City of Gdynia who is currently developing a next-generation mobility plan in cooperation with a variety of stakeholders and can be considered as a living laboratory for SUMP development. The conference will end with a site visit where participants will have a chance to get know some of the measures included in the Gdynia Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan. 23/09/2014 to 26/09/2014 Urban mobility and social inclusion - Planning accessibility for more sustainable cities Program The 12th edition of the annual CIVITAS Forum Conference will take place between 23rd and 26th September 2014 in Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco. Casablanca will be the first non-European city hosting the CIVITAS forum conference. The choice of Casablanca as CIVITAS forum 2014 host officially seals the cooperation in the urban mobility field between the EuroMed transport project stakeholders and the CIVITAS Initiative.
